It has been days that I was asking my Mom what is her Jurassic trinket that I can take a photo and share for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Old. I finally settled to share the ring of my Grandmother that is now kept by my Mother; my Grandma who actually took cared of me when I was a toddler.

Green Jade Stone with Diamonds in Gold setting Ring. Jade is quite expected for a family with Chinese heritage. That would be me, trying the ring 🙂
I asked Mom when did Grandpa gave the ring, she said Grandma was wearing that ring ever since she can remember, the year is about 1960 – Wow! For me that’s quite old, half a century from today so it definitely passed as antique enough. The best parts are I can hold it, I knew who owned it and wait since I’m the eldest and Grandma loved me (so I heard) does that mean I will inherit it and maybe someday when my child asked me “Mommy, do you have any Jurassic trinket that I can share to the blogosphere for this week’s challenge?” and deja vue, I still got the perfect piece.
My title was Old Flame because I sighed when my Mom dropped the line “she was wearing it the whole time”. Does that mean my Grandma loved my Grandpa so much that she couldn’t take off that ring? They got 8 children together I guess that was a solid proof that there is a burning flame of L-O-V-E. Cheesy but somehow good to imagine and believe.
great tribute to your grandma!
