[1: 551 of 10,000] Amazing KL Chips

In Review on February 19, 2012 at 8:42 AM

Kuala Lumpur has a treasure. They have this magical chip that when fried and bathe in hot oil will leave you amazed. Based on the packaging, it’s called “Lock Siew Moy.”

The packaging looked very regular.

The cooked looked very regular.

Let us take a look, when I took and hold 1 uncooked chip…

… compared to a cooked chip that I hold.

Believe me that the uncooked when cooked becomes humongous!
It turned out to be 5 to 6 times the original size!
It can’t be cooked in a small pan; I actually cooked 1 chip at a time.

It takes about 5 seconds to cook it as long as it is soaked in hot oil.
Just make sure you don’t let it brown otherwise it’ll taste burnt.
Super crispy and delicious, I can’t say it’s healthy though. 😉

  1. This is actually called a prawn biscuit. Lock Siew Moy is the name of the shop owner. 😀
