WOEAIHF is Rick Warren’s “What On Earth Am I Here For?” book.

Day 3: Everyone’s life is driven by something

I must remember these lines:

  1. We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it.
  2. Fear is a self-imposed prison that will keep you from becoming what God intends for you to be. You must move against it with the weapons of faith and love.
  3. Real security can only be found in that which can never be taken from you – your relationship with God.
  4. This I strongly experience – When life has meaning, you can bear almost anything; without it, nothing is bearable.
  5. I can’t believe I have the same lamentations like Isaiah and Job! – Isaiah complained, “I have labored to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing. Job said, ” My life drags by – day after hopeless day and I give up; I am tired of living. Leave me alone. My life makes no sense.”
  6. You need hope to cope. Hope comes from having a purpose.
  7. The silver lining – “You, LORD, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.”
  8. Knowing your purpose focuses your life. You become effective by being selective.

I like my drive in life is to always have good intentions and that it benefits more than myself and be content with it. I hope I get there sooner. I also know that I tend to worry and complicate things so I aim my driver to enjoy the whole journey and relax.
