WOEAIHF is Rick Warren’s “What On Earth Am I Here For?” book.

Day 13: Worship that pleases God

With “Invitation” by Philip Glass playing in the background I savor this moment as I write about this chapter. Melodies and lyrics that I like have powerful effects that make my soul come to life, and I often think it is probably because that art was made me love. It was a beautiful line when Rick said, “Worship is your spirit responding to God’s Spirit.”

It is a form of worship when I am given every single new day to live my authentic self, doing what I do now with my best and love, and having the intention to serve. The Bible lovingly reminds us that, “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

Our body shows our connection why we are alive, this body that breathes on Earth, leads us to be present if we don’t get lost in our mind. Breathe in. Breathe out. Create the space and don’t think but feel the gentle air that goes into our body and giving that air a gentle send-off. In every new breathe, new air, we can recognize that right now we are OK, enough, and go ahead smile.
