[1: 1,934 of 10,000] WOEAIHF? Day 28 of 42

WOEAIHF is Rick Warren’s “What On Earth Am I Here For?” book.

Day 28: It takes time

God is concerned about how strong we grow. God views our lives from and for eternity, so he is never in a hurry. God has promised that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” Every day God wants you to become a little more like him: “You have begun to live the new life, in which you are being made new and are becoming like the One who made you.”

There’s no shortcut to maturity so I will enjoy the journey through worship, fellowship, and discipleship. I am grateful for reading this book because I have found a meaningful destiny. I just listened to a podcast interview of Oprah Winfrey with Pastor Wintley Phipps that helped engrave (or is it that I start to remember?) the message of this book into my being… My best destiny is the moment I most resemble, reflect, and reveal the characters of God. Pastor Wintley said that the 8 dimensions of God’s characters are: (1) faith, (2) virtues or moral goodness, (3) knowledge & wisdom, (4) patience, (5) self-control, (6) respect to what is sacred, (7) kindness, and (8) love.
