[1: 1,232 of 10,000] Judging A Story Teller

In Article on December 6, 2013 at 1:07 PM
I am obsessed with TED talks because it shares ideas on video (very convenient) for someone like me that needed quick fix of stimulation and new perspective. Go to YouTube and check on TED channel (in case you’re wondering, no I am not being paid to promote either YouTube or TEC channel, but I must say I dream to be giving a talk at TED’s soon *wink*).
I came across a modest story teller. I really don’t know what he was supposed to say and how he will say it, but based on my initial encounters, these certainly caught my attention and stirred my curiosity…
Judging with the title – Boyd Varty: What I learned from Nelson Mandela
So many people admired Nelson Mandela and to hear someone speak about him who seemed to be in contact personally – intrigued me.
Judging with the origin – Africa
The whole continent seems very humble, full of story, and I visualised it as ‘too hot,’ literally weather based and they love the outdoor adventure. I am not really fond of going out under the sun and sweating, so to see people fascinated in that circumstance amazes me.
After watching the video – Totally Inspired by Ubuntu
Amazing how a 15 minute video could give me a different satisfaction that nourishes my soul. His stories were told from the heart and I could sense his gratefulness and innocent amazement. It’s beautiful to hear his wonders and he imparted a word that would stick to my being for lifetime – Ubuntu (I am; because of you). The talk was not about Nelson Mandela’s life, it was for him, but most of all the root of the talk embodies the great legacy of Mandela.
Now, watch the video yourself and see what you’ll discover –

[1: 1,230 of 10,000] Very Current Commercial

In Review on December 4, 2013 at 10:21 PM

I like this new Turkish Airline advertisement.

Spot the current trends:

  1. Selfie – A real brand new word that is currently loved.
  2. Smart touch screen phone – Technology’s treat.
  3. Travel is a real statement and surprisingly easier now! Tourism is encouraged in most countries.
But some things never grow old:
  1. Men will always be competitive, to outwit anyone. We want to win and with that we push ourselves to become creative.
  2. Endorsement works especially tapping different audiences by combining 2 different sports personalities.
  3. We respond to humor. I will remember that Turkish Airline once upon a time had fun series of advertisements.
On a realistic note, may we truly use technology to CONNECT. It should not put a dent to physically touch someone and speak with someone face to face. And may we use our creativity to explore new possibilities to make life FUN!

[1: 1,203 of 10,000] Women Are Beautiful

In Article on November 9, 2013 at 4:34 AM

Women are beautiful and yet we become so critical on defining a real beauty. I admire the new campaign of Dove (I don’t work for them, that’s for certain, but I should as I love their products) where they stopped just making plain business (taking money from people in exchange of goods) into going to have a soul.

Watch the video below to see what I meant:

The ad brought me to tears and melted my heart. We do tend to forget how gorgeous we are and it makes it better when team of creative and business people go a new kind of mile to remind us just how much we shouldn’t forget.

[1: 1,167 of 10,000] Crazy About Nail Polish

In Review on October 6, 2013 at 12:00 AM

For months I refrained from applying nail polish because my nails turned yellow but the scary part was it became brittle and one just got broken (it was a bit painful). I have always have strong nails but all of a sudden it was gasping for relaxation.

I let it rest, waited it to grow until the yellowish were gone. Finally, I am off to buy myself 3 new Inglot Nai Polish, which according to the sales associate was water based, it will not turn my nails yellow, so I was hoping it will not soften and make my nails weak ever again.

Inglot Nail Polish

I love nail polish because I type a lot so to see my colorful nails, it makes me smile, or deeper than that, it makes me truly happy! ♥

[1: 1,162 of 10,000] Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning!

In Photo, Review on October 1, 2013 at 12:00 AM

This delicious bun from PappaRoti is a definite winner for breakfast giving a real Good Morning!

The bun was ridiculously amazing. It is perfectly crisp on the outside, a real softly fluffy in the inside, a hidden subtle butter awaits at the center, and beautifully drizzled with a choice from chocolate, honey, etc. The wooden platter is cozy pretty too. ♥ 🙂

[1: 1,158 of 10,000] Nobu

In Review on September 27, 2013 at 12:00 AM

I finally found the best Mixed Seafood Ceviche (take out) in Dubai that I would love to go back to. Nobu at Atlantis The Palm got them!!!

Unfortunately, a recent medication, exhaustion, heat, and maybe an unknown reason gave me a bad experience when I was about to dine. Yes, I was the one who threw up at Nobu in my pretty black dress. The waiter was friendly to offer a medic to check on me and bring me to my hotel room; but I tried to compose myself and walked from east to west wing of Atlantis hotel.

My mixed seafood ceviche was ordered as take out as I really can’t bring myself to eat anything. It was like all the comedy movies where every bit of food I smell was drawing me to throw up until finally I was not able to hold it any longer. It did make me feel better and able to get up, walk straight, and rush to bed.

A glass of coke with ice and another round of vomiting at the room made me feel better. What an experience!

Will I try going back to Nobu and eat properly? Yes! Probably in a disguise though. 😉

[1: 1,148 of 10,000] Kissing eos

In Review on September 17, 2013 at 12:00 AM

I am in love with eos Lip Balm!!! ♥

eos Lip Balm Summer FruitDue to medication, my lips constantly dry up and eos is keeping my virgin lips extremely smiling with happiness.

The flavours are amazing and sweetly delicious. I also love the packaging, it’s cute and conveniently handy. My work colleague thought it was a stress ball but when she tried to squeeze, it was quite hard – lol.

My sissy introduced it to me. She learned about it from Kim Kardashian; true influence and the power of a star.

We got it through online purchase at a pretty good price!

[1: 1,116 of 10,000] What Weekend?

In Journal on August 16, 2013 at 7:07 AM

Thanks to Katy Perry’s Roar that accompanied me all wee hours to write backlog blogs, buy some stock investments, read some articles, and get few naps in between. I know it’s weekend here in Dubai but I am heading to the office today to do some financial work and place the new Pottery Barn Bedford Desk Accessories to make me happy at my work desk. I didn’t go overboard to buy all three things:

Lady Susan1. Lazy Susan keeps supplies within easy reach and it took me a while to buy this last night. I played it, swing it delightfully and decided I am getting it. It is pretty cute! I am very excited to see this on my desk today and I already imagine playing it for the coming days. It was not really cheap but it will be worth it. The happiness it brings to my OCD – absolutely priceless.

2. Caddy holds 3 photos, 3″ x 3″ each – This was actually my first choice of purchase but I finally decided that my papers which I have a lot will not work at the back of the caddy. I was excited about the photo frames but finally decided my personal life doesn’t go to the office, it is private and it is mine. Plus, I am scared to open the photo container, I have a great feeling I will eventually break it.

Organizing Set
3. Two-drawer paper organizer includes labels. I think it’s the perfect replacement to my crappy metal tray that I gave my assistant to use instead. I adore the drawer handles. My sissy suggested that I should get a white one but the imperfection on the wood work was so obvious that I decided to get the black ones.

I love organizing!!! ♥ 🙂

[1: 1,106 of 10,000] I Want My Loved Ones Smile

In Photo on August 6, 2013 at 11:17 PM

I want her to be joyful and feel that she deserves all the beautiful things that she desires. It was not even about the price and it was not about the brand; it was about the quality of a masterpiece that speaks to you.

I got her one of these… because I love her and I wanted to see her smile.
