I am watching the Gilmore Girls on Netflix again. I didn’t expect that they got 7 seasons, so I’ll finish longer than anticipated. I really like them and I couldn’t simply stop listening to the Gilmore antics. They are funny and full of drama.
They appear to show a good life in a small town. I use to live in a small town but I never really liked it. Is it a sign that I am a cold bitch and wouldn’t be settling for a quiet life? I share a studio apartment with my single youngest sister in Dubai, I have a growing fortune plant in our bedroom, and we’re in a sort of suburb but still in a 5-storey apartment. I do like to live in a villa only because it means the parking lot is closer to the house.
I have this itch to do something more with my life. Maybe travel to exotic places and help others. I am trying to really find my will to help others and make their life better but I don’t know if that would make me happy or is it something that will fill my growing voidness.
I am a little lost in my own world right now, I will stay in my cave, quiet for a while. I’ll figure it out soon.

Individual may lose proper guidance on choosing a group, we like to call it going astray; but they have a reason for choosing a group. They choose one where they would feel they are seen, heard, appreciated, and get the very sense of belonging. It is no wonder a good kid suddenly joined a gangster brotherhood if they feel that they have seen their reflection on their members not really about the wrongdoing per se but it could be that they show him respect, they acknowledge his presence, he felt wanted and with that he is willing to depart a part of who he is.
A person leaves his habitant when he no longer feel safe not necessarily in terms of financial or even the fact that he knows he is being loved by his own family member; but it is usually the different type of safe net that he looked for. He could take the family for granted because with his friends who drinks and smokes have the same family status that they parents are marrying for the nth time. We have our personal issues and even if we don’t speak about it but when we found people who have been through it; it becomes comforting to see them, be with them, even if we don’t personally admit we are in the same swing.
It is important to create a home that is safe, no unfair judgment, loving and kind. Communication is a great tool especially if there would also be lots of listening. Honesty delivered with kindness and backed with objectivity will establish a mature exchange. It takes practise to keep the teens in their toes but it is not impossible.

Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) experienced growth in terms of sprouting residential towers and it is still growing.
I wish I live in JBR beside the white sand beach with the beautiful view of moored yachts. 😉

I’m watching Bobby Chinn who visited Singapore and he was in a tour with one funny man who has great appetite like his.
The tourist guide said, “Chinese loves to eat, they eat everything, they eat everything with legs except table, they eat everything with wings except airplane.”
I guess I’m Chinese then.

Today is the beginning of Ramadan for our Muslim brothers. Being in United Arab Emirates, we would have a sense of participation for the event and here were my observations having to experience it for the 4th time Read the rest of this entry »

I love to declutter because I also love to keep momentos. I also love to buy books and usually brand new. One faithful day I visited Magrudy’s and thought I will just browse books from the shop but when I got a hold of Paulo Coelho’s “The Valkyries”
for AED 38.00 I just have to know what is the story of The Paulo and his wife and seeing a real life angel. Read the rest of this entry »

This is one of the signages in Mall of the Emirates, check the last block of red square, 1st destination, it says “Prayer Rooms”. I really admire the religious dedication of the Muslim community and as modern as a mall, they respect that they needed a place to pray.

Once upon a time I joined a certain chat group in Yahoo! and it was a wonderful place to learn and meet different people all over the world. Today, someone created a new group in Facebook – odd because everyone was using their real names on fb unlike the yahoo ID that could turn any female to male, from misleading initials, or up to just some fancy ‘I thought that was a real cool ID online’ kind of thing.
Everyone kept popping up and it is a wonderful fuzzy feeling to see familiar names even if they didn’t all turn out to be my real good friends but I got to admit that I found two great buddies that I still keep in touch with after I didn’t get the time to join the room anymore.
Will this end up to something meaningful for me? Is this going to be a fad? I better wait to find out, it was 7 years ago and yet the feeling is just surreal…

In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
May Your love keeps everyone at peace, live with incredible strength and seeks the silver lining from the hay of challenges.
May these new events that shake our being make us care more for one another.
This we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

In 2002, I am passionate about running in the morning. Since my only background on running is during recess time on elementary days, I have no clue on the proper expectation so I went to search a community where I can mingle and learn. It was Yahoo Group’s Running Room that gave me more than facts and tips; I met runners around the world, hear them joke, one guy even sings online (sounds like Coldplay even if he’s drunk), and winning friends too whom I still keep in touch with.
Late last year, I started this blog to document and practice writing by producing one or more post daily; but the best surprise that has happened is the project started by Scott Berkun of WordPress which is creating a Daily Post. I was really happy and appreciative that fellow bloggers flock and share their creative ideas. I see optimistic and kind blog visitors from around the world who write intelligent and fun posts. It is mind blowing that they inspire me tremendously.
