[1: 1,475 of 10,000] More People Look Happy

In Journal on May 23, 2015 at 10:17 PM

Instagram

I am pretty happy that more people seemed to look happy. I am staying too long in Instagram where everything appeared to be glamorous, simple but fun, delicately staged but quite creative, and life is interpreted as special that’s full of wonders to be discovered and shared to the world.

It’s like the piece of movie that you get a glimpse but we all don’t know the story of the journey, that the photograph at the bottom left took more shots than one until this particular light in this particular filter was perfect for publication.

In life, we often do not know the struggle, the heartache, the pain, and we thought success is easy. If it’s easy, everybody will be successful, but it’s not because it entails not just love and passion, but the actual time and energy to devote and accomplish not one time but series of sweat and blood works that have ultimate directions.

I am really being silly right now in my life. I know what I want and I am completely screwed on how to get them. I couldn’t figure out the heavy blockage, and I am too anxious to calm down. I am scared that if I don’t figure this out, I am going to lose my mind, yes that’s the worse that could happen.

I am still begging for miracle for the final week of May 2015. I hope one day, (which I’m sure it will certainly happen, I know it in my soul) I will read this post again and laugh at myself with all these confusions and utter with the sweetest smile and say, “God, you’ve always got my back, thank you and I love you too.”

[1: 1,440 of 10,000] Alexa Chung’s “IT”

In Review on April 18, 2015 at 4:47 PM

Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung’s “IT” is one of the easiest books I finished to read in under 2 hours. I liked how she also shared personal photos of herself and her friends without any caption; it gives people room for their own interpretation.

She admires Kate Moss as evident with this statement:

Anything Kate Moss puts near her body is instantly transformed into the coolest thing ever, because She is the coolest thing ever and nobody can explain why. It’s just a fact.

And for me, Alexa is one of the coolest people in the fashion world or an “IT” girl. How do I define an “IT”? She is confident and she might have a preferred style that won’t be adored by all but she owns it and speaks true of what she loves. If you’re a woman and loves Instagram, you’ve probably seen this book incorporated into the shots, because including it as an accent makes the photo pretty cool and valid to hash tag it with fashion.

It’s a fun book, not a bit serious, and obviously written by a young Alexa as her story revolved about style and her icons, getting heart broken, her friends, and simply living “a fun” life.

[1: 1,423 of 10,000] Food Instagrammer

In Photo, Review on March 25, 2015 at 2:53 PM

Moylo's Instagram is my favourite app and food, being one of the centre of my attentions, is one of my favourite subjects to double tap.

Why food? It gives me happiness in case you’re wondering or Simon Sinek called it biologically gives me dopamine shots that makes me happy. I love looking at food posts and I admire how they take the top shot of all the glorious food, drooling now with just imagining sumptuous food.

Above is my very first attempt to pretend that I am a food Instagrammer, a good one that gets thousands of likes. I visited Moylo’s, a famous burger joint here in Dubai, the crowned Prince of Dubai even made time to visit and signed a padlock. I used the top shot technique to fit the burger, the tiny amount of coleslaw, the diet Coke, the very delicious Truffle Fries with the special dip and a normal ketchup, the dry and wet tissues too, and it was quite strategic that I should get the colourful resto table.

I was a little embarrass taking the photo while a man waiting for his order was sitting so close to my table, I was shy that he might think people these days do not grab their burger when it arrives, they take out their phone and take a photo. Is it worth it that I cared what he thought of my choice of action? Is it bad that I wasn’t respecting my food as soon as it arrived? Nah! I was enjoying life and I would not have something to post and share to the blogosphere world if I didn’t take that slight 2 minutes or less to snap just what I was about to eat. Plus my food wasn’t cold when I dive into it.

I was enjoying life and in everything we do, I think that should be the key, did we enjoy it, if yes, fuck everything else. Did I harm anybody, no, then I may do it again probably in a slightly different way, I’ll order another set from the menu! What do you think?

[1: 1,111 of 10,000] Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

My First Diamong Ring

I always put the most important things that last on my list but this week I am starting to believe that it will make me feel good working so hard if I reward myself with a reminder that will always put a smile on my lips whenever I see it while I type – fresh from Eid celebration is my first ever Diamond Ring.

I feel so adult getting myself something valuable and I do hope I make my Mama proud for picking a cute everyday ring. She always advised my sisters and I that we have to get ourselves with big stones that has real worth in the long run but I don’t like to be too loud at the office for wearing big stones so I contained myself and get a pretty decent size that sparkles.
